Jasmine Crockett gets emotional recounting personal story about Harris
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) broke down in tears Monday night as she entered Congress, referring to her exchange with Vice President Harris.
"When I first got to Congress, I wasn't sure if I had made the right decision," Crockett said in a prepared speech on the night of the Democratic National Convention. "A chaotic Congress doesn't elect a president and a supervisory board doesn't work. When I first visited the vice presidential residence, I was experiencing all of this."
"When I approached Harris for an official photo, she turned around and said, "What's going on?" We had never even met, but she glanced at me and saw pain. Then I burst into tears, and the most powerful woman in the world listened, wiping away my tears."
Then the woman said, "You are where God wants you. Your region chose you because they believe in you. So do I.
Crockett is a Texas native and a member of the House Democratic Party representing the state's 30th Congressional District. He explained that he was able to gain himself and "legislative power" in the House by attacking Republicans and starting to give them "their own medicine."
