Former U.S. President Barack Obama's spouse Michelle Obama has appealed for support for Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris and running mate Tim Walz of Minnesota to win the presidential election.

On the second day of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois, on the 20th (local time), Mrs. Michelle expressed her affection for Vice President Harris, saying, "We support you."

He began his speech by saying, "Isn't there something magical in the air?" and "America's hopes are reviving."

Michelle then said she was proud of Vice President Harris and expected the upcoming U.S. presidential election in November to be a historic election.

"The power of positivity is contagious," Mrs. Michelle said, arguing that the United States is at a crossroads of choice whether to head for a brighter day.

"Harris is one of the most qualified people to run for the presidency," he said, stressing to voters, "You have to sit back and do something instead of just complaining."

Mrs. Michelle also said that former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, will continue to attack Vice President Harris in this election, adding that she and her husband have experienced that.

"Donald Trump has attacked us over the years with all the powers he's been given," Michelle said. "His narrow view of the world made him feel afraid of two black people who are highly educated, hard-working and socially successful."

"Who will tell me that the job he is currently looking for may be a black job?" he asked back.

Earlier, on the 31st of last month, former President Trump caused controversy with the expression "black jobs" at a forum invited by the Black Journalists Association.

Former President Trump repeated his baseless claim that illegal immigrants were trying to take "black jobs" at the meeting.

Asked by the host to clearly explain what a black job is, former President Trump said, "Everyone has a job. I'm trying to say that," adding, "They (illegal immigrants) are taking away the employment of black people."

In her speech, Mrs. Michelle criticized Trump for "making ugly, misogynistic, and racist remarks without presenting real ideas or solutions to enrich people's lives."

Former President Obama, First Lady Michelle, Vice President Harris' spouse Douglas Emhoff, Senator Bannie Sanders of Vermont, and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker took the podium.

Michelle is deeply connected to Chicago. She was born to a middle-class African American family in Chicago in 1964 and graduated from Whitney Young High School. She went on to graduate from Princeton University and Harvard Law School. After graduating from law school, she worked at a law firm called Sidley Austin in Chicago and met and married former President Obama, who interned there.
