His manager Will Levine confirmed to CBS News that John Afrea, who played young Tessio in "The Godfather 2" and John Stamos' father in "Full House", died on August 5 at the age of 83. He died naturally in Los Angeles surrounded by someone he loved.

Afrea was born in 1941 in Englewood, New Jersey, an Italian immigrant. He moved to New York in the early 1960s to continue the performance before moving to Los Angeles.

Applia reportedly called actor Abe Vigoda, who had interpreted his previous version in "The Godfather," to seek clarification. Vigoda says, "Have a good time, kid. "
