Houston Rapper and Producer Dies At 39

Beat King's death was confirmed by his manager, Tasha Felder, on Aug. 15.



Texas rapper Beat King has passed away at the age of 39.


The rapper and producer behind tracks like "Then Leave" and "Scream," who were born Justin Riley, were the driving force behind Houston's underground scene. Becking's death was confirmed in a statement posted on Instagram on Aug. 15 by his manager, Tasha Felder.



"Today, on Aug. 15, 2024, we lost the Beat King," Felder wrote. "Beat has been the greatest part of the club for over a decade. He produced and worked on numerous artists to make his sound last forever. He loved his daughters, his music, and fans. We will love him forever."




Born in Houston, Texas, he was often a staple in the downtown music scene, becoming a soundtrack for club fans.




Beyond Houston, Beat King's influence expanded by collaborating with prominent artists such as 2 Chainz, Moneybagg Yo, and Erica Banks. His unique style and ability to create hits made him a beloved figure in the rap community.

Beat King is survived by his daughters, who are often mentioned in his music and social media posts. Details of his death have not been released.
