Japan's magnitude 5.1 earthquake ‥ no tsunami warning



A 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck Ibaraki Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo, Japan, at around 0:50 a.m. today, Kyodo News and Xinhua News Agency reported.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the epicenter was 36.70 degrees north latitude, 140.60 degrees east longitude, and the depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometers, and no tsunami warning was issued.

The tremors were also detected in central Tokyo, Xinhua said.
